"Of Savannah Winds " is a small Rhodesian Ridgeback kennel situated In the North East of Holland.
Founded by me, Mary Joshua , in 1995 and since 2008 co-owned by Harrie and Anita Boers, a Dutch family living in Germany.
All our dogs are first and foremost family pets, we occasionally have pups.
Ridgebacks are our hobby not our business.
KENNEL HISTORY:
I bought my first Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch in 1993: Rydgeway African Mistery /Misty. ( Besal Fatoka X Ridgeway Copper Coin.
She became our founding bitch. In 1995 we got our kennel registration and bred our first litter. Rydgeway African Mistery X Ch. Merten.
From this litter we kept a puppy bitch: Asonga Mist of Savannah Winds/ Songa.
She gained the following titels : Dutch, International and Luxembourg Ch.
In 1999 we bred our second litter: Ch. Asonga Mist of Savannah Winds X Ch.Aakemba King Astor Gi Fumo. From this litter we kept another bitch: Boshasa Mystery of Savannah Winds./Shasa.
Her litter sister Boshima Shona went to live with the family Boers.
Boshasa gained the following titels : German Youth Ch., Dutch, International and Werld Winner 2002.
Unfortunately her sister Shona had an "over bite "and was never showed.
In 2001 we imported a male pup from N. Zealand: Nambala Qam of Savannah/ Chaqamba. ( Ch. Nambala Gombe X Ch. Namba Ianthe. )
Chaqamba has sired 4 litters:
Dam: Outridgeous Suma- Jem. ( Belgium )
Dam: Ch. Hayawani Zerafina Moyo. ( Sweden )
Dam: Chakira Von Der Kalahari Wuste. ( Germany )
Dam: Hayawani Nyota Rayha. ( Sweden ).
From the litter Chaqamba/ Chakira a bitch went to live with the family Boers: Chadari Bintou of Nambala.
In 2006 we imported another Puppy bitch, this time from Switzerland: Dancing with Lions Chaniya/ Charlie Girl. ( Bayete Mist of Savannah Winds X Dancing with Lions Akilah.
Over the years we also welcomed and loved...
Kimba: A rescue bitch, she stayed with us for 5 years.
Aamba: chaqamba,s daughter from Sweden; she stayed with us until she was old enought to travel to England, ( 10 Mths. ) where she joined the Faahac kennel.
Last but not least, a grand old lady with the beautiful name Lagumba, a rescue bitch of 11 years. Although we only had her for 14 mths., like all our dogs, she has left everlasting paw prints in our hearts.
